| An oil painting show was held in Ningbo Gallery on October 11. 315 pieces of oil painting were demonstrated. The organizing committee multicrystalline solar cells named this exhibition Wonderful Homeland and intended to show oil paining works of painter in Zhejiang Province. Xu Xingxing, the vice secretary of Zhejiang Oil Painting Association, said that they began collecting oil painting works from last year. They collected altogether more than five hundred pieces from different parts of the province. After careful appraisal, three hundred and fifteen of them were selected to be demonstrated in Kitchen Linen Ningbo Gallery. Besides members of Zhejiang Oil Painting Association, rather a lot of students from fine arts academies, amateurs and professional painters presented their works. Among them, the youngest is only six years old. She and her mother cooperated on an oil painting piece named Coloring and Painting. It is said that 85 percent of participants are young painters. It was an exhibition of not only oil painting works but also painters in our province. Xu said that some famous painters, including Quan Shanshi, Wang Qingyu, Chen Jiwu, Yang Canjun, Gao Erji, Han Peisheng, Pan Honghai, also had their works exhibited. The exhibition was a breakthrough in terms of not only quality of painting works but also number of participants. What attracted our attention was that the oil painting works this time were of great variety and different styles. With Chinese National Day celebration as the main theme, rather a lot of realistic works were created. 70 percent of works exhibited were created from 2007 to 2009 and many of them were demonstrated for the first time. Works of 38 painters from Ningbo were also demonstrated. a lot of these works reflected achievements made since the reform and opening up had been implemented. Crossing The Sea, showing the construction of Hangzhou Bay Bridge, was painted by Zhang Xi, a painter from Cixi. Chen Bijun’s Crowded Fish in Fishermen reflected scene in Shipu. Zhou Haihua’s Warmth reflected soldiers’ warming themselves at night. “The exhibition”, Xu Said, “shows the intelligence of painters, especially born after 1980’s, from Ningbo”. |
